SIBU: The Sarawak men’s indoor volleyball team clinched the bronze medal at the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA) after a commanding 3-0 victory over Johor yesterday (Aug 22).

Sarawak started strong in the bronze medal match, which kicked off at 5.30 pm, taking the first set 25-19.

Despite Johor’s efforts to rally in the second set, Sarawak remained dominant, securing the set 25-15.

They sealed their victory with a decisive 25-19 win in the third set, earning the bronze medal and leaving Johor in fourth place.

Earlier in the women’s indoor volleyball competition, Federal Territories claimed the bronze medal with a 3-1 victory over Johor.

The match, which started at 3 pm, saw the Federal Territories narrowly beating Johor with a score of 25-23 in the first set and 25-20 in the second set.

Johor then bounced back by winning the third set 25-14, extending the game to another set.

However, their efforts were in vain as Federal Territories were eager to conclude the game, winning the fourth set 25-21, leaving Johor to settle for fourth place.

Today (Aug 23), in men’s indoor volleyball, Selangor will face Federal Territories for the gold.

Meanwhile, in the women’s category, Sarawak will compete against Selangor for the gold medal, which will be the main highlight for Sarawak fans.
