KUCHING: Enrique Maccartney Harold has made a memorable exit from the Sukma Games, capturing his first individual gold medal in the men’s 10m platform diving event during his fourth and final appearance at the competition.

During the competition held at the Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre here on Thursday (Aug 22), the 21-year-old Mass Communication student from Universiti Putra Malaysia marked this victory as a significant milestone in his career.

Enrique’s final score of 409.10 points secured him the top spot, but despite the triumph, he expressed a desire for an even higher achievement.

“While my score was the highest today, it didn’t quite meet my expectations. I aimed for more,” Enrique shared with reporters during the ongoing 21st Malaysia Games (Sukma).

Having previously won gold in synchronised diving with his partner Elvis, this individual victory holds special significance for Enrique as he transitions out of the Sukma stage.

When asked on his next plan, he said as a current member of the national diving team, he is now setting his sights on the national trials for the Malaysia Open.
