KUCHING: The Salvation Army here will host a charity sale, Sale of Work at the Salvation Army Community Complex in Kota Samarahan on Aug 31.
This sale event, which aims to raise funds for the underprivileged, will begin at 8 am until 12 noon, according to a statement released by the Salvation Army Kuching.
“Members of the public can also learn more about the work and services of the Salvation Army Kuching and lend their support by purchasing a variety of items on sale from about 70 stalls that will operate on the day.
“The event will also include several associations, churches, corporate partners, and individual volunteers contributing their energy and resources to make the event a day of wholesome family fun for a good cause,” the statement said.
Some of the other activities organised for that day include special performances by the residents of the Salvation Army Kuching Children’s Care Centre and a free talk by a lawyer from FortisWills Estate Planning Sdn Bhd on the importance of making a will and the purpose of legacy planning.
Captain Daniel Lethcumanan, the Corps Officer for the Salvation Army Kuching, hopes that the contribution obtained from the charity sale will help expand the Salvation Army here and assist more underprivileged people.
