SIBU: Sarawak’s mixed doubles badminton team will face off against a Selangor duo in a match for the bronze medal today (August 24) at the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA).

The home team, Jeremy Juan Zhen Liang and Genevie Lim Tsin Yeen, lost to Penang’s duo, Tan Wei Liang and Khor Jing Wen, 1-2 in the semifinals tonight (August 23), ending their hopes of winning the gold or silver medal.

In the first set, Jeremy and Genevie claimed victory, defeating Penang’s duo 21-16.

However, the Penang pair made a comeback in the second set, winning 21-15, and went on to secure victory in the third set, 21-18, defeating the home team.

Jeremy and Genevie will meet Selangor’s Mohamad Haris Sufian Shazlan and Wong Zi Yi in the match.
