MELAKA: The Melaka Pakatan Harapan (PH) government has succeeded in implementing more than 50 percent of the pledges made in the manifesto offered by Melaka PH in the 14th general election (GE14).

GE14 Melaka PH manifesto committee chairman Datuk Mohd Sofi Abdul Wahab, who is also PH Melaka vice-chairman, said the achievement proved that PH Melaka was committed in looking after the welfare and improving the wellbeing of the people in the state.

“If in seven months we have implemented about 44 of the 84 pledges (In Melaka PH manifesto), I am confident the pledges to the people would be met.

“The implementation takes time as some involved budget and formulation of enactment as well as new laws with the federal government,” he said in a statement here yesterday.

Mohd Sofi said among the pledges fulfilled were limiting the tenure of the Melaka Chief Minister to two terms, practice of prudent spending and eradicating political bureaucracy in approving projects and post appointment.
