MUKAH: The Department of Information (JAPEN) made a significant impact by organizing the Jalur Gemilang Merdeka Expedition (KMJG) convoy, inspiring the community to deeply understand and embrace the essence of independence.

Shafrie Saili, Deputy Resident of Mukah, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in boosting patriotism and raising public awareness.

“In times of conflict, our soldiers guard our flag with utmost reverence as its fall signifies a blow to our morale,” he remarked.

Under the theme “Madani Malaysia: Free Soul,” he expressed hope that students would internalize this concept, defending independence by proudly displaying the Jalur Gemilang.

These statements were made during the inauguration of the KMJG Programme at SMK Three Rivers yesterday.

Shafrie also advised students to use social media constructively, given its pervasive influence. He stressed the need for caution in online interactions to prevent involvement in cyberbullying.

Helmy Hamid, Director of JAPEN Sarawak, highlighted the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission’s (MCMC) recent introduction of the Application Service Provision Class License under the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588), effective from January 1, 2025.
