MIRI: Miri MP Chiew Choon Man held a townhall event at Pei Min Miri Secondary School here Sunday to drum up enthusiasm and understanding on the government’s e-invoicing initiative.

The event, titled “Mastering E-Invoicing: Taxation Strategies for Small Enterprises,” drew a diverse crowd of entrepreneurs, associations, and the public eager to learn about the latest developments in the digitalisation of financial management.

“Today’s programme will deepen the understanding of local enterprises on e-invoicing and taxation systems,” he said.

“It also fosters collaboration between enterprises and relevant government departments and associations, equipping them to face future challenges together,” he added.

The event served as a crucial platform for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to explore how mastering e-invoicing and the latest taxation strategies can propel their businesses forward.

According to Chiew, e-invoicing is not merely a new tool for tax declaration but a pivotal element in the broader digital transformation of government and business processes.

“The implementation of e-invoicing is a key step in modernising financial management. It allows companies to manage their finances more efficiently and comply with government regulations, which in turn opens up new opportunities and growth prospects for enterprises,” he explained.
