KUALA LUMPUR: Civil servants, as executors of government policies and initiatives, must remain abreast of the nation’s progress not only at the federal level but also within the states,” Deputy Minister of Economy, Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib emphasized the interconnectedness of initiatives between these tiers.
She stressed the need for collaborative enhancement, particularly in underdeveloped areas. “For instance, discrepancies in the implementation of green economic strategies have led to an incomplete support framework,” she pointed out.
Sharing her insights after the 2024 Parliamentary Affairs Strengthening Workshop of the Ministry of Economy, held yesterday in the city, Hanifah highlighted the evolving demands of today’s populace. “The diverse needs of our citizens necessitate a more adaptable approach,” she remarked.
Referencing specific regional requirements, she noted, “Mukah urgently requires an upgraded hospital facility, while Kota Marudu in Sabah faces a pressing need for improved water supply.”
Acknowledging the importance of preserving cultural heritage, Hanifah recognized communities like the Orang Asli villages in Kedah that prefer maintaining traditional lifestyles.
The workshop participants were equipped with skills for crafting responses and concluding speeches tailored to ministerial standards, crucial for the accuracy of information shared during live broadcasts of Dewan Rakyat proceedings across various media platforms.
