KUCHING: The Sarawak Bumiputera Consulting Engineers Association (GJPBS) is in the process of identifying a suitable site to build its training centre.
Its chairman, Irwan Zulkarnain Muhammad Hasbie said the main of building it is to provide training to engineers for engineers, host courses, conduct seminars, among others.
“We also propose that the centre include a research centre and a testing laboratory,” he said after paying a courtesy visit to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia on Wednesday.
Irwan said the construction of the centre is expected to begin in early 2026 after obtaining the necessary approvals.
“It is now 2024, and we expect to receive approval by 2025. The construction will likely commence at the end of 2025 or early 2026,” he added.
