PBH Asset Management to maintain Pan Borneo Highway

KUCHING: The federal government, through the Public Works Department (PWD), has appointed PBH Asset Management Sdn Bhd to oversee the maintenance of the Pan Borneo Highway.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the total cost for the project worth RM69 million spans over three years.

“I would like to emphasise that the maintenance of this highway involves public facilities, which are crucial to the interests of the people.

“Therefore, I would like to remind PBH Asset Management Sdn Bhd to ensure that the delivery of these services is smooth, adheres to the specified standards, and is completed within the stipulated time frame as outlined in the contract agreement,” he said.

He said this in his speech during the handover ceremony of the Letter of Acceptance (SST) for the federal road maintenance of the Pan Borneo Highway to PBH Asset Management here, recently.

Nanta hoped the company will appreciate and responsibly utilise the trust that has been placed in them.

“Not all companies are granted such opportunities and I urge them to carry out their responsibilities with full commitment.

“Most importantly, may the Pan Borneo Highway be maintained with quality that meets the specified standards, timelines, and costs, and fulfils the ministry’s expectations, ultimately benefiting the people,” he added.

For the record, the highway project began in 2015 Pan Borneo Highway began in 2015, with a total of 11 packages.

The highway spans 829.40 km, and the first package, WPC01 from Telok Melano to Sematan, was completed in 2019.

“Several packages that have passed the Defect Liability Period will be handed over to PBH Asset Management Sdn Bhd in stages to carry out road maintenance works.

“These works include routine maintenance (year-round), Periodic Pavement Maintenance, Non-Pavement Periodic Maintenance, and Emergency Works as approved from time to time,” Nanta added.
