SIBURAN: A chicken feed store at Kampung Kekat, Mile 16 here, was completely engulfed by a fire late last night (Sept 4).
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the 10.35 pm incident.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from the Siburan station were dispatched to the scene, about 14km away, after receiving an emergency call.
Upon arrival, they found that the store was beyond saving and the extinguishing tasks were performed using water from their fire trucks.
The flames were brought under control at 11.10 pm, with overhaul works carried out to ensure that there was no risk of reignition.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred are still under investigation.
