SIBU: The Sarawak State Library (Pustaka) will host the Series 2 Sustainable Sarawak Seminar this Thursday (Sept 12), starting at 8.30am.
The event will be held at the library in Jalan Tuanku, Sungai Merah.
The seminar, themed “Well-Being,” will be live-streamed on the Pustaka Sibu Facebook page, making it accessible to the public.
In a statement, the seminar aims to raise awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and educate the community on their importance in addressing global challenges.
“This seminar will focus on three specific SDGs: Good Health and Well-Being, Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions,” it said.
Six papers will be presented during the seminar by representatives from various agencies including the Sibu Health Office, Sibu District National Anti-Drug Agency, and Sibu Municipal Council.
The paper presentation session will begin at 9am and conclude at 1pm.
In the afternoon, participants will visit the Homeless Transit Place and Destiny for Children Association.
