KUCHING: Sarawak’s Machan FC are contemplating withdrawing from the Malaysia A1 Semi-Pro League, citing the escalating costs of domestic flights as the primary reason for this potential move.

The club announced their predicament in a statement on their Facebook page, explaining the financial strain they are facing.

“As everyone is aware, Machan FC have been operating using our own club funds, and the significant increase in domestic flight ticket prices has made it difficult for the club to continue with the remaining matches of the A1 Semi-Pro League,” the statement read.

Despite the club’s concerns, Machan FC clarified that the decision is not yet final.

The club management plans to discuss possible solutions with the Amateur Football League (AFL), including a proposal to reschedule the league.

The proposed rescheduling would aim to have all of Machan FC’s away games played consecutively in Kuala Lumpur, thereby reducing the frequency of travel and overall expenses.
