BINTULU: Residents of Kampung Jepak Hulu, particularly the fishing community, will benefit from a new jetty that will replace the old, dilapidated one.

Work on the new jetty is expected to begin early next month.

Shahrezy Sulaiman, an officer from the Jepak State Constituency Service Centre, stated that  RM100,000 project was funded through the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) allocation for the Jepak State Constituency and expected to be completed within three months.

“With the upgrade of the jetty,  the residents will enjoy better facilities. We hope this project will make it easier for the residents, especially those who rely on the jetty for their daily work as fishermen,” he said while representing the Jepak Assemblyman, Iskandar Turkee, during a visit to the village jetty on Wednesday.

He added that this project was approved under the RTP Budget 2024, and the contractor selection was carried out through a ballot process.
