LUNDU: Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan has allocated RM37,500 to support seven mosques and 11 suraus in the constituency, aiming to enhance infrastructure development and meet educational needs.

The funding is intended to aid in the construction of mosques, tahfiz centres, and suraus, benefitting the local community and aligning with initiatives to strengthen the welfare of the Muslim community in the district.

According to Azizul, the well-being of the Muslim community in Lundu district will remain a priority.

He highlighted the Lundu Islamic Welfare Trust Board (LAKIL) as a key force driving progress, not only in religious matters but also in economic, educational, and technological development.

“LAKIL will serve as a bridge to community advancement, fostering social development through various programmes organised by mosques and suraus in the area,” he added.

He said this in his speech while officiating at the LAKIL Carnival in celebration of Maulidur Rasul 1446H/2024M, recently.

The LAKIL Carnival, held from September 13 to 16, features a range of engaging activities, including a lucky draw, adding excitement to the event.
