SRI AMAN: Thousands of people gathered at the Sri Aman Waterfront last night (Sept 14) to celebrate Malaysia Day with a vibrant concert.
The “Cinta Malaysia Jiwa Merdeka Segulai Sejalai” concert featured a diverse range of cultural performances, including traditional dances, music, and poetry.
The Burdah performance by the Kampung Hulu Malay Cultural Heritage Association and the Bukit Begunan Gendang Pampat Dau Association were highlights of the event.
Local and national artists also took to the stage, entertaining the crowd with their captivating performances.
Dion Das Louis, known as “The Little Bornean Birdie,” delivered a lively Ngajat dance that was inspired by the Ruai and Kenyalang birds.
The concert was graced by Education, Innovation and Talent Development Minister Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, who is also the minister in charge of the Sarawak Level Malaysia Day Celebration 2024.
Other dignitaries present included Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Deputy Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh and Sri Aman MP Datuk Seri Doris Sophia Brodi.
A spectacular fireworks display concluded the evening, marking a fitting end to the concert.
