Once a while, an opportunity doth arises
To make small talk with someone we’d meet
I once met a stranger, so full of surprises
I asked, how have I’d gotten into this grit?

This valour, from where, I wonder it came?
Such impromptu, spontaneous discourses
Of conversations, with their bits and pieces
Full of insights, a rich scattering, of gems

Filtering through, clouds of conversation
We navigate around these, but all together
As the sunlight breaks through, in unison
Commonalities, and insights, will appear

Penetrates through, the day’s sky overcast
The dark clouds thicken, heavy with mist
Insightful commonalities come on fast
For we’ve made connection, the very gist!
