If the water is fresh, wholesome,
And is sweet to the taste;
It can only mean one thing — the forest, is: Yes, still standing, as it should be,
That pristine nature is, still intact,
And is flourishing, as it should be;
Hence, the Source of Water, is pure.

For the forest is like a huge sponge,
It absorbs the impact of the rainfall,
Helping to trickle down, a massive flow,
To gradually move, onwards to the ground;
Unhurriedly, and naturally paced;
A beautiful symphony, one of nature’s own
Audible surely, only to the enlightened ones

Without the forests’ filtering effect,
And the sponge-like nature of the trees,
Including, all the vegetation cover,
A deluge of rainwater, with undue haste,
Would devour up everything, in its path;
Gaining increasing momentum, as it goes
With scary possibilities, and sad outcomes

So, I say — leave the trees alone, and intact
All peacefully standing, and unmolested;
For would you allow your own lungs,
To be carved out, right out of your chest?
Or for the air to be sucked up for good?
Oh, that is insanely stupid, and suicidal!
Worst then a mass extinction, an evil orgy

So wake up man, shake yourself free
Steer clear, out of this malignant stupor,
Let the Source of the Water remain pure;
So that of its taste — will always be wholesome,
Yes, fresh and sweet, as it should be
Just as it once was, in a Paradise Lost
A taste to be regained, in the here and now
