BELAWAI: The Belawai Festival from September 20 to 29, promises a range of exciting activities throughout its 10-day run.
Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh said 33 events are planned for the festival, involving the participation of over 1,000 locals.
He said this year’s programme is more packed and exciting compared to previous festivals.
“This event caters to all levels of society and offers numerous benefits, not just to Kampung Belawai but also to the wider Tanjung Manis District.
“It serves as an excellent platform to promote Belawai Beach as a key tourist destination,” he said after chairing the final coordination meeting for the Belawai Festival 2024 at the Tanjung Manis District Office on Wednesday.
He added that the festival will be officiated by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on September 29.
Among the highlights are performances by well-known celebrities and over 150 stalls, alongside a fishing competition with over 500 participants, offering a grand prize of RM20,000 to the winner.
