MIRI: The body of a 59-year-old man, believed to have been attacked by a crocodile, was discovered in Sungai Batu 4, Kuala Baram today (Sept 23).

The victim, identified as Minggu Ikum, was found by the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) approximately 4 kilometres from their control post.

His body was severely mutilated, with his left arm and leg missing.

Authorities have handed the remains over to the police for further investigation.

According to reports, Minggu had gone to the area alone on Sunday morning to set up fishing nets.

When he failed to return home, his family became concerned and reported his disappearance to the authorities.

The search operation was immediately launched, leading to today’s tragic discovery.
