KUCHING: Hope Place, in collaboration with a social worker from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), has extended its support to a 41-year-old mother of three, Wynsey Wee Win Cher, who is currently undergoing treatment at SGH after suffering a stroke and battling a viral infection.

Wynsey, once a small business owner running a laksa stall in Kuching, saw her life take a drastic turn earlier this year when her health began to deteriorate.

“In September, she was admitted to the hospital, where she faced several serious health issues, including the amputation of two fingers due to a viral infection,” it said through a statement, Monday (Sept 23).

Wynsey is also suspected of having kidney problems and is believed to be suffering from Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), according to her social worker.

Her health struggles forced her to shut down her business in March, leaving her family in a vulnerable situation.

Wynsey, who lives in a rented house in Hui Sing Garden, is the sole caregiver for her three children, aged six to 17. While she remains hospitalised, her children are managing on their own at home.

In the meantime, Hope Place has stepped in to assist Wynsey by providing essential items, including adult diapers and a wheelchair, to help her cope during her hospital stay.

Hope Place is thankful for the generous donations from the community, particularly the contribution of wheelchairs, which enable them to support individuals like Wynsey.

For those who wish to contribute to Wynsey’s recovery and support Hope Place’s ongoing efforts, donations can be made directly to their bank account (Maybank: 511289001160) or via their Facebook page using the Sarawak Pay (S PAY GLOBAL) QR code.
