KUCHING: AirAsia Drone has partnered with GIT Academy to equip Licensed Tourist Guides with essential drone knowledge – marking a new chapter in the Academy’s dedication to offering world-class training for tourism professionals.

In a statement, it stated that this collaboration highlights the importance of ensuring legal compliance and safety in the rapidly growing field of drone operations, further enhancing the professional skill set of Malaysia’s Licensed Tourist Guides.

It noted that over the years, GIT Academy has successfully trained more than 10,000 Licensed Tourist Guides, ensuring the highest standards of hospitality for visitors from around the globe.

“In this new initiative, GIT Academy will work alongside AirAsia Drone, Malaysia’s first Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM)-certified Remote Pilot Training Organisation (RPTO), to offer certified drone courses.

“These courses will help Tourist Guides operate drones safely and legally, as the popularity of drone photography grows,” it said.

Furthermore, it pointed out that with drones becoming more affordable and capable of capturing stunning high-definition footage, this collaboration ensures that GIT Academy graduates are well-versed in the latest safety regulations and operational best practices.
