BINTULU: The Borneo International Kite Festival (BIKF) in Bintulu serves as the perfect platform to foster unity and appreciate cultural diversity among communities.

Jepak assemblyman, Iskandar Turkee, said that the 17th edition of BIKF with the theme ‘Unity Through Flight’ was not just an event, but an avenue to celebrate the beauty of culture and togetherness.

“BIKF not only showcases spectacular kite displays but also features a variety of activities involving families and visitors from diverse backgrounds.

“This event is an important initiative that unites the community through a shared love for kite flying and art,” he said in his speech at the welcoming ceremony for the participants of the 17th BIKF 2024 at a prominent hotel here yesterday.

A total of 28 countries, including the United States, are participating in the annual event organised by the Bintulu Development Authority (BDA).

The 17th BIKF, which runs from Sept 25 to 29, will also be covered by two French television crews.
