Kpg Hilir fire victims receive donations from Lions Club

SIBU: Lions Clubs from Region 2 & 3 of District 308-A2 pooled their resources together and jointly donated food supplies to the fire victims of Kampung Hilir today.  

For the record, a devastating fire broke out in Kampung Hilir here on September 22, destroying 18 wooden houses and leaving 156 residents homeless.

The disaster caused significant property damage, leaving the local residents in urgent need of assistance.

In response, Lions International District 308-A2 Foundation promptly allocated RM5,600 in emergency funds to support the disaster relief efforts.

Additionally, 19 Lions Clubs from Region 2 and 3 have jointly donated food supplies to help the victims get through their difficult times.

The presentation of donations  was led by the President of Lions Club of Sibu Nangka Teresa Wee and witnessed by the 2nd Vice District Governor of District 308-A2 Datuk Jimmy Tie Hien Hwa.

Other attendees included Lions District 308-A2 past governors, Kapitan Connie Loh Ming Hua and Augustine Ngu Liong Ing as well as presidents from various Lions Clubs from Region 2 & 3.

The joint donation effort highlighted the Lions Clubs’ commitment to caring for and supporting the community, providing much needed assistance to the disaster affected communities, helping them overcome the crisis, and restoring their lives as soon as possible.
