SRI AMAN: Police have arrested seven individuals including three women, for allegedly involved in selling unlicensed lottery tickets recently.

Acting on public tip-offs, an operation codenamed ‘Op Dadu’ was simultaneously carried out at four premises.

Sri Aman police chief DSP Mathew Manggie in a statement, said the premises were located along Jalan Durian, Bazar Sabu, Jalan Hollis Taman Sri Jaya, and Jalan Club B.

“All of the suspects, aged between 21 and 33, were taken into custody as they were believed to be selling the illegal lottery tickets.

“During the raids, police confiscated various items believed to be used for the illegal activity,” he said.

He added that the suspects along with the seized items were taken to Sri Aman district police headquarters for further actions.

The case is being investigated under Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.
