KUCHING: The Sarawak team was not able to keep up the momentum they had previously during the fourth day of the para table tennis event at the ongoing 21st Para Malaysia Games (Para Sukma XXI) 2024.

In the morning session, Brayden Huang Chuan Yuan lost to Muhammad Faiz Abdul Ahmad from Selangor, in a stiff battle for the bronze medal.

Brayden first scored the first round with 12-10 against Muhammad Faiz, but then lost during the second till fourth round, leaving Huang to only settle for fourth place.

During the afternoon session, Goh Kuong Tiong first lost in the preliminary round, Men’s Wheelchair Singles against Muhammad Sharonizam Ismail from Perak, scoring 0-3.

In the second game however, Goh managed to turn the tide when he put up a tremendous fight against Muhammad Jauhari Turiman from Johor, scoring 3-2.

The final day for the event will be held on Friday (Sept 27).

As of 5.17 pm, Sarawak are leading the medal tally with 71 gold, 48 silver and 60 bronze medals.
