PADAWAN: Police have confirmed that a viral CCTV footage showing an autistic child being abused, which resurfaced online yesterday (Sept 27), is from June this year and not a recent incident.
According to Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, the incident occurred on June 18, at a childcare centre along Jalan Batu Kawa.sar
“The case was investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001,” he said in a statement today (Sept 28).
He added that the suspect had been arrested and charged in the Kuching Magistrates’ Court on August 1 this year.
