KUCHING: In preparation for the highly anticipated Sarawak International Dragon Boat Regatta and Sarawak Regatta, the Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) has announced that a total of 166 sales booths will be available for vendors.
According to a press statement, the booths will be set up along Lebuh Java and Jalan Gambier from October 25 to 27 and again from November 1 to 3, 2024, providing a total of six days for vendors to sell their goods and services.
“A total of 166 booths will be offered across various categories, including textiles, accessories, children’s toys, food, and beverages.
“Specifically, 72 booths will be allocated for general merchandise such as textiles and toys, while 70 booths are set aside for food and beverage vendors. Additionally, 10 booths will cater specifically to grilled food vendors, and 14 booths will be reserved for food trucks,” it said.
The local authority said the cost to rent a booth for the six-day event is RM160.
“Vendors are required to bring their own table, chairs, and a blue 10’x10’ canopy to maintain uniformity and simplify the booth arrangement process.
“Applications for the sales booths will be conducted online starting October 4, 2024, from 9. 00 am to 4.00 pm through DBKU’s official website.
“Vendors must submit several required documents, including passport-sized photos, copies of identification cards, and, for food and drink vendors, proof of a completed food handler course and a health check, including a typhoid vaccination,” it added.
DBKU said that the application process will include a screening phase followed by a voting to allocate booths.
“Only complete applications will proceed to the voting stage, and successful applicants will be contacted to attend a briefing and booth allocation session on October 15, 2024, at the DBKU Auditorium, Bukit Siol.
“Applicants can check the status of their submissions on DBKU’s website starting from October 11, 2024,” said DBKU.
