KUCHING: Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii lauded the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for allocating significant funds to enhance the development of basic infrastructure, the construction of places of worship such as temples, churches, mosques, and schools in the Sarikei area.

Huang, who is also the Member of Parliament for Sarikei and Repok assemblyman reaffirmed his dedication to advancing rural development.

He said that since being elected as a representative eight years ago, there has been a concentrated push to improve road infrastructure.

“This includes the construction of cement and tar-sealed roads, which not only improve the transportation but also bring progress to rural areas, thereby improving quality of life for residents,” he remarked.

He said this during a recent visit to several longhouses in the Ulu Sarikei and Sg Rian areas of Ulu Sarikei.

Showing his concern on the physical condition of the longhouses, he has allocated funds for repairs works, including fixing roofs, floors, ceilings, floor mats, and installing fans, among other upgrades.
