KUCHING: The 3rd Sarawak Tourism Short Video Contest 2024, organised by the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS), is approaching its submission deadline of Oct 31.
This contest invites all filmmakers, video creators, YouTubers and students from Sarawak, regardless of age, ethnicity, or religion, to participate. Entry is free.
“In its continued efforts to promote the Sarawak tourism industry and bolster local economic growth, ACCCIS has secured endorsement from the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak as its supporting partner.
“The Kuching Filming and Publishing Association is also co-organising this event to provide technical support,” according to a press release.
In the past two years, ACCCIS added that it has successfully organised similar contests that attracted fascinating entries from local participants.
“This year, the contest remains open to all Sarawakians at no cost, with a significantly increased prize pool totalling RM24,000.
“Prizes include RM10,000 for first prize, RM6,000 for second, RM3,000 for third, and five consolation prizes of RM1,000 each.
“Participants are encouraged to explore diverse themes such as tourist attractions, cultural heritage, culinary delights and local experiences.”
Videos should last between three and six minutes, showcasing Sarawak’s diverse cultures, scenic spots, historical sites, and unique experiences like food, adventures, and festivals in their local areas.
