KUCHING: The Sarawak Malay National Association (PKMS) is set to complete its new headquarters located between Jalan Patingan and Jalan Muhibbah here by March 2026.

This was revealed by PKMS president Dr Wan Ali Tuanku Madhi during a courtesy visit to Sarawak Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

The visit was to formally invite Wan Junaidi to the association’s 85th-anniversary dinner, which will be held at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre on October 26.

Dr Wan Ali noted that the event will also feature the launch of a book documenting Malay wedding customs in Sarawak, part of PKMS’ efforts to preserve and promote the Malay cultural heritage.

The dinner is expected to draw around 500 guests, including representatives from Malay non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Sarawak, as well as special invitees from Sambas and Pontianak.

He also expressed hope that Wan Junaidi would share his advice and views on PKMS’ ongoing efforts to safeguard Malay history and heritage in Sarawak.
