SARATOK: The newly constructed 36th longhouse in Kelaka constituency is now almost complete.
Named as the Tinting Jelai Longhouse, it has 21 doors and is led by Chief Nyawai Guang.
Kalaka state assemblyman Mohamad Duri stated that various forms of assistance have been provided by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government to help the people own homes.
“Among them are from the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), which includes a housing loan scheme by Mutiara Mortgage & Credit, offering home loan services,” he said.
He made this statement during a visit to Tinting Jelai Longhouse yesterday (Oct 2).
The Tinting Jelai Longhouse, which has 21 doors, is located not far from Rengan Selambong Longhouse.
Mohamad hopes that the completion of this new longhouse will provide greater comfort to its residents.
He reiterated thus far, no area has been neglected from receiving development, adding that the Sarawak government was committed to ensuring rural areas receive much needed development. Mohamad advised the longhouse residents to have a proper and complete longhouse
