The young members of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) are excited about the upcoming inauguration of the newly formed Youth Wing, designed to engage individuals aged 18 to 28 starting on October 6.

For many, this represents a platform to voice their political opinions, while others view it as a chance to enhance their understanding of political matters.

During interviews with the Sarawak Tribune, several expressed their optimism that this event would signify the commencement of their involvement in politics.

These sentiments reflect the eagerness of PBB’s youth as they anticipate the official launch of the PBB Youth Wing. The ceremony will be led by the Premier and PBB President Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

I see this platform as more than just a way for young people to share their political views. It should be a direct line for them to influence policies that affect them directly. This platform should empower young people, helping them take part in making laws by giving them the tools, resources, and support to propose, talk about, and put into effect policies that tackle important issues such as youth unemployment, improving education, advancing technology, and promoting social fairness.

I want this platform to be a key place where young people, especially from Sarawak, can get involved in politics. Young voices need to shape inclusive and forward-thinking policies. I also envision this as a space where 18 to 28-year-olds can share their political opinions, have constructive debates, and suggest solutions to issues that affect them directly, like education, jobs, and sustainable growth.

The introduction of the PBB Youth Wing gives young people a chance to play a significant part in influencing both our society’s future and the direction of our party. It can be a crucial tool for creating policies that put youth interests first. This will offer a clear way for them to share their thoughts with senior party members and also provide a platform for them to engage in community service.

I want the PBB Youth Wing to be a place where young folks can speak their minds freely. It’s not just about getting better at things; it’s also about learning to lead and take responsibility. I hope it becomes a spot where young people can challenge themselves, make a difference, and help their community grow.

I hope that the new PBB Youth Wing will help its young members become leaders by providing training, mentorship, and opportunities to get involved in politics. By preparing future leaders, the Youth Wing can empower young people to have a bigger influence on Sarawak’s politics, pushing for policies that matter to them.
