KUCHING: Puan Sri Datin Sri Elizabeth Pawa, the mother in law of Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, has passed away this morning (Oct 6).

In a heartfelt announcement on his Facebook post, Nanta shared the news of his beloved mother-in-law’s peaceful passing at her home here at 9.55am. She was 76.

Elizabeth was the wife of the late Tan Sri Celestine Ujang, a former Sarawak state minister and former Speaker of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly.

“Her departure from this world has left an irreplaceable void in our lives, and we mourn the loss of a cherished mother.

“She had touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her and their memory will forever be etched in our hearts.

“Despite the profound sorrow that fills our hearts, we take solace in the cherished moments and memories we shared with her,” Nanta said.

He also acknowledged the strength that comes from the love and support of family and friends during this time of immense loss.

“In this time of profound grief, we find strength in the love and support of family and friends as we navigate this difficult journey of bidding farewell to a dearly departed soul.

“We humbly request your thoughts and prayers as we come to terms with this immense loss and celebrate the life and legacy of our beloved mother,” said Nanta.
