SIBU: The launch of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth Wing on Sunday (Oct 6) by PBB President, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, is anticipated to greatly benefit young people aged 18 to 28.
The initiative is seen as a great platform for the youth to address matters important to them, not only political but also their career opportunities, and personal development.
In an interview with Sarawak Tribune, many youths expressed their hopes that more young individuals will take advantage of the opportunities created by the establishment of this new wing.
Nur Hazirah Kasdi, Youth member of PBB Kalaka division:
With the official launch of the PBB Youth wing, I hope more young people throughout Sarawak will join PBB because by joining the party, they can gain broader opportunities and exposure in the political arena. Based on what I have observed, young people lack exposure in this field.
Mohamad Khuril Fadalie Shurdy, Youth member of PBB Saribas division:
I hope that more young people, especially in rural areas, will join PBB with the official launch of this wing. This way, PBB members will continue to grow and strengthen.
Ninie Racha Anding, Youth member of PBB Layar division:
With the launch of this youth wing, I hope that young people will actively participate in the party and eliminate the stereotype that politics is a ‘sensitive’ issue. Instead, it is an opportunity to voice concerns on the issues faced.
Reily Repai Maringai, Youth member of PBB Baleh division:
With the establishment of the Youth wing, I hope it can serve as a platform for young people to express their aspirations and ideas in politics. May it help develop leadership in young people, not only within families and workplaces but also in politics.
