KUCHING: A rather unorthodox strategy will likely be adopted by Sarawak’s head coach (David Usop) to tame visiting Perak at State Stadium, Petra Jaya, here, in a crucial Super League match tonight.

The alternative game plan came to his mind as Sarawak winger, Nur Shamie Iszuan Amin who injured his right ankle during a training session earlier this week will likely miss the match.

David Usop admitted that the incident disrupted his initial plan to provide the best team.

“Very likely he (Nur Shamie) will not be able to play because of the injury,” said David yesterday.

According to the coach, he has choices to cover the position with other substitute players.

However, he added that in facing the visitors (Perak) who are no ordinary team on this weekend, he has to get best players line-up to face the team. Moreover, David said his players are hoping to emerge victorious in home ground action.

“Undoubtedly, Perak are not an ordinary team. I hope that Sarawak can obtain full points in the match to move away from the ‘red line’ status,” he added.

Sarawak are now ranked in 11th place with seven points out of two wins and a draw from nine games.
