KUCHING: Head of State (TYT) Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar is set to attend the 15th edition of the Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak programme for the first time since his appointment.
The invitation for this landmark participation was extended during a courtesy call by the programme’s organising committee at Astana Negeri Sarawak, Thursday (Oct 10).
The delegation was led by Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, who serves as the chairman of the Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak 2024 organising committee.
He noted that the visit was aimed at inviting both Wan Junaidi and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi to the event, scheduled for Oct 19.
The event, which is expected to attract around 6,500 guests, will feature a closed-door dinner at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur.
In the morning session, Sarawakian youths are invited to participate in activities hosted by various ministries and agencies from Sarawak.
The programme will also provide a platform for Sarawakian students to share their ideas and perspectives directly with Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg during a town hall session.
Also present during the courtesy call were Tanjong Manis MP Ir Yusuf Abd Wahab, Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin and Batang Sadong MP Rodiyah Sapiee.
