MIRI: Four individuals were injured in a single-vehicle accident on Jalan Miri-Bekenu near the Bekenu River this morning (Oct 13).
The incident occurred when a Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) veered off the road and plunged into a ditch.
Emergency services responded to the scene after receiving a distress call at 11.38 am.
Members of the public rescued the injured occupants before firefighters from the Batu Niah Fire and Rescue Station arrived.
One of the victims, a woman, required immediate medical attention.
Firefighters secured her with a cervical collar and took her to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
The condition of the other three victims remains unclear, but they were also treated on-site and subsequently taken to a hospital.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
