KAPIT: A total of 100 students from 10 primary schools were honoured at the International Award Ceremony for the Sarawak Youth Development Sustainability Programme 2024 – Junior Award School Scheme Programme (JASS) on Saturday (Oct 12).

Held at Sekolah kebangsaan (SK) Lepong Balleh, Kapit, the opening ceremony was officiated by Teguh Niaga Engineering & Services Berhad chairman Tang Kuak Tinng.

“The JASS programme is an International Award Scheme from the United Kingdom focused on progressive learning and character building.

“Its objective is to enhance participants’ proficiency in both co-curricular and academic activities,” the company said in press statement issued today (Oct 13).

The programme is said to indirectly support grassroots talent development and provides a platform for students to engage in international programmes and gain recognition at the global level.

Fully sponsored by Teguh Niaga Engineering & Services Sdn Bhd, the initiative involved students from rural primary schools in the Hulu Rajang parliamentary constituency.

Participants, who successfully completed the programme, were awarded the International JASS Bronze Award.

They were also recognised with co-curricular participation scores (PAJSK) at the National Level by the Ministry of Education Malaysia.
