KUALA LUMPUR: Alpro Pharmacy has urged all Malaysians in flood-prone areas to take health precautions with heavy rainfall and thunderstorms expected in the coming week

The bad weather is forecast in several states, including Perlis, Kedah, Penang, and Sarawak.

In light of the National Flood Forecasting and Warning Programme (PRABN) forecast, Alpro recommended preparing essential supplies, including medications and advised people with chronic conditions to update their pharmacy records.

Additionally, it advised residents to monitor weather updates to stay informed about potential threats closely.

Furthermore, with the monsoon season approaching, the risk of dengue fever significantly increases due to a rise in mosquito populations.

Alpro encouraged individuals to vaccinate against dengue to build immunity and protect their families.

As a dedicated community pharmacy, Alpro is committed to supporting Malaysians during the flood season.

Alpro Pharmacy’s outlets nationwide are ready to provide health consultations and assistance, ensuring the safety and well-being of the public.

Recognising that natural disasters like flash floods often leave victims without time to gather essential belongings, including long-term medications, Alpro Pharmacy is offering free medicines to support those in need through its Life-saving Medication Care Programme.

Through the programme, Alpro offers a one-time supply of chronic medications for up to seven days free of charge to communities affected by natural disasters.

However, a police report documenting the flooding is necessary for verification, and those who have misplaced their prescriptions can receive a free consultation and e-prescription from an online doctor on-site.

For additional assistance, community members are encouraged to save the e-pharmacy WhatsApp hotline number, 019-702 1923, for timely support during emergencies.
