KUCHING: Two foodpanda delivering partners walked away with life-changing prizes at the ‘Panda Jelajah Borneo’ event.
Mohd Azin Arsyad Basir, 22, from Serian won an Umrah package for one person during the lucky draw sponsored by Ikhlas.com and foodpanda.
A full time rider since 2022, he shared that winning the lucky draw was not something that he had expected.
“Actually, I came to the event here today to support my friend who performed today. I did not expect to bring back this package home.
“Winning the Umrah package is indeed a dream come true for me, and I feel incredibly blessed. This is more than just luck; I believe it’s all thanks to my parents’ prayers and blessings. Without their constant support and encouragement, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
“With that, I would also like to thank foodpanda and Ikhlas.com for this opportunity,” he said.
On the other hand, Mohd Hazwanur Islam Adam, 26, from Kuching won a RM10,000 sponsorship to the International College of Management and Sports (ICMS).
“I’m truly grateful for this sponsorship; it’s an opportunity that will make a big difference in my family’s life.
“Instead of using it for myself, I’ve decided to pass the college sponsorship to my younger siblings, who have always dreamed of furthering their studies.
“This will help them pursue a brighter future, and I’m glad to be able to support their aspirations in this way,” he said.
Aside from the lucky draws, the event also featured interactive games, engaging workshops, and many more.
Additionally, the event highlighted the Special Black Oil Bundle Package from Liqui Moly, designed to promote vehicle maintenance and efficiency.
Foodpanda also introduced the Go Gigger Financial Literacy Programme by the National Credit Counseling and Management Agency (AKPK), aimed at empowering gig workers with essential financial skills and knowledge.
On top of these, there were also special engagement opportunities with Ikhlas.com, providing participants with insights into various services and products that cater to the needs of the gig community and the i-Saraan package by Employees Provident Fund (EPF) where it showcased how gig workers can save for their retirement through flexible contributions, ensuring their financial stability in the future.
