KUCHING: More than 10,000 people are expected to attend this year’s Chinese New Year (CNY) gathering organised by Kuching South City Council (MBKS) on Feb 9.
Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud will grace the occasion, held for the 10th time since it was hosted in 2009.
Yesterday, Mayor Datuk James Chan, accompanied by MBKS senior officials, paid a courtesy call on Taib at the Astana in Petra Jaya here.
The courtesy call was to invite Taib to attend the event to be held at Dewan Masyarakat MBKS.
