Maxim E-hailing’s initiative helps reduce vehicle maintenance costs

KUCHING: The rising cost of car maintenance has risen by more than 10 per cent this year, with vehicles now requiring more than two inspections annually.

Citing statistical data, Maxim E-hailing said the company has launched a new initiative aimed at reducing vehicle maintenance costs for its partner-drivers in Sarawak in response to the issue.

Maxim in a statement said the campaign offers discounts on maintenance services through a partnership with local workshops across cities like Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu, and Miri.

As such, the collaboration was formalised through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Maxim, represented by Maxim Malaysia head of Regional Development Ahmad Shabrie, and Wong Siong Sing, director of Tyre Save Mini Market.

As part of the deal, Maxim’s partner-drivers will benefit from discounted services for a year starting in October 2024.

By presenting their Maxim app and Taxsee Driver ID, drivers can receive up to 40 per cent off engine oil services and 30 per cent off tyre repairs.

This initiative is expected to reduce maintenance costs by over RM300 for drivers, allowing them access to premium services that may have previously been unaffordable.

Meanwhile, Ahmad said the company remains committed to ensuring the vehicles used by its drivers are well-maintained, ensuring safe and reliable services for passengers.

“Therefore, this collaboration with local workshops has two great advantages for partner-drivers — reduced prices and more available vehicle maintenance services.

“Partner-drivers can now enjoy a discount for a year starting October 2024, valid in all outlets in Sarawak; all that partner-drivers need to do is show our app installed on their phone,” he said.

Wong expressed gratitude for the collaboration, saying that not only does the service help its partner-drivers, it also supports the automotive industry as a whole.

“On our end, we are going to provide high-quality services and ensure that the partner-drivers’ cars are in top condition,” he said.
