KUCHING: A fire broke out at a bus storage workshop in Kampung Batu Kitang Lot, along Jalan Kuching-Bau today (Oct 18) afternoon, destroying three buses.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received the emergency call at 3.52 pm and dispatched teams from Batu Lintang and Tabuan Jaya fire stations.
Firefighters arrived quickly and worked to contain the blaze using two hose reels, one backup water supply, and nozzle equipment.
The fire, which originated in the workshop, rapidly spread to the buses which were parked at the premises.
Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported, authorities are assessing the damage and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
