KUALA LUMPUR: The Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) exhibition booth became one of the main attractions at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) during the Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak (LBAS) 2024 Programme.

Among the key attractions was the use of advanced hologram technology, displaying Sarawak’s Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg in a 1.82-metre-tall digital form.

This not only highlighted technological advancements but also emphasised the importance of leaders in shaping Sarawak’s future.

Starting as early as 8 am, the exhibition booth featured various activities, including the distribution of goodie bags containing exclusive UKAS items, leaflets on the Sarawak Premier’s initiatives, and the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS).

There were also survey sharing sessions and a digital quiz competition offering exciting prizes such as laptops, tablets, printers, speakers, earbuds, power banks, and USB drives.

A brief prize giving ceremony for the quiz winners was officiated by UKAS director, Samuel Simon.

Additionally, in line with the slogan ‘The People’s Information Channel,’ visitors, especially students, had the opportunity to understand the vision and mission promoted by the Sarawak government through clear information shared by UKAS staff.

The exhibition booth was also visited by the Deputy Prime Minister, who is also the Member of Parliament for Petra Jaya, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
