SARATOK: A nonagenarian reported missing after heading to a rubber plantation and failing to return home at Rh Frederick Juan, Kumpai Krian, has been found dead on Sunday.

The victim has been identified as Sipin Landok, 94.

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that the body was found by longhouse residents at 2.50 pm, about 100 metres from where the victim was last seen.

His body was later handed over to the police for further action.

Following the discovery, the search and rescue (SAR) operation was officially called off at 3.30 pm.

The incident happened last Thursday when Sipin left the longhouse and head towards the rubber plantation, about 500 metres away.

Since then, he failed to return home and it prompted his family and the residents to conduct a search party to look for him before reporting his disappearance to the authorities.
