KANOWIT: The Ngabas Menua @Kanowit programme, held recently at Rumah Taboh, Nanga Ngungun, Kanowit, was a significant event designed to strengthen ties within the rural community.
Organised by Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) Sibu and officiated by Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana, the programme aimed to foster closer relationships between the local community and the media, particularly through the Sibu FM radio station.
In his brief speech, Anyi hoped for similar programmes to continue in his constituency, in line with the slogan “Segulai Sejalai” (Together as One).
He envisioned the event as a family-friendly platform that would promote a sense of togetherness among residents.
RTM Sibu Manager, Jenny Achan, said that the programme served as a bridge between RTM Sibu and the rural community.
It provided residents with an opportunity to gain a better understanding of the broadcasting world and interact directly with radio presenters.
She added that the programme not only focused on radio broadcasts but also included a variety of other activities.
Also present were Anyi’s wife, Gelim Utan, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dennis Bunyam, Pemanca Liong Khing Hee and Penghulu Dunstan Mandau.
