KUCHING: Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak, in its continuous endeavours to empower the local community through participatory communication and skills development, has organised a Protocol Workshop to enhance professionalism in event management, commencing today (Oct 23).

The workshop convened in Kuching, drew in over 60 participants from various organizations, including government agencies, corporate bodies, and NGOs.

This workshop forms part of the “Movement for Progress” initiative by AZAM, designed to equip professionals with essential skills to uphold protocol standards, ensuring the seamless execution of events, official ceremonies, and public functions.

The session was led by seasoned facilitators who are well-versed in protocol management, etiquette, and event coordination, generously imparting their expertise to aid participants in effectively managing high-profile events.

In his opening address, AZAM CEO, Ali Suhaili, underscored the significance of professionalism and meticulousness in protocol management.

“Mastering protocol and event coordination is pivotal for any organization, particularly when hosting high-profile events or involving dignitaries. It guarantees smooth proceedings, upholds respect for traditions, and enhances the organisers’ image,” he said.

“The workshop encompassed a variety of crucial topics, such as VIP guest management, seating arrangements, flag and national anthem protocol, dress codes, and general etiquette,”

Participants also actively engaged in interactive sessions and practical exercises, enabling them to apply the acquired knowledge in real-world scenarios.

“As part of broader initiatives to enhance skills within the community, AZAM Sarawak will persist in providing such workshops and training sessions, concentrating on various critical areas for professional and community advancement.

“This endeavour is in line with Sarawak’s ambition to evolve into a high-income and highly skilled state by 2030,” he appended.
