KUCHING: Firefighters from the Padungan and Batu Lintang stations had a hectic early morning, responding to two car fires today (Oct 23).

A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) mentioned that emergency calls came in at 4:27 a.m. and 4:34 a.m. regarding the vehicles ablaze.

The initial incident involved a pick-up truck owned by the Immigration Department, parked near its office building on Jalan Pending.

Upon the arrival of firefighters from the Padungan station, the vehicle was already engulfed in flames.

They swiftly began extinguishing the fire using water from the fire truck to prevent it from spreading to nearby vehicles.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

In the second case, an engulfed Proton Saga was discovered along Jalan Stakan, Kota Sentosa.

Firefighters from the Batu Lintang station determined that the fire following a collision with a van that, while damaged, was not on fire.

Fortunately, there were no injuries resulting from the incident, and the firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze using water from their fire truck.
