KUCHING: The Podium Street Mall is hosting its first Halloween celebration, the OctoberFair GruesomeWeen pop-up market.

The event was launched by Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng.
The market features a variety of products from local vendors, including artisans and small businesses known for their quality and creativity.

Among the notable vendors are Beatrix Collection, showcasing Bidayuh traditional beads; Tuak Ayak Sutteh, offering specially brewed tuak and handicrafts; and Juhara Zen Perfume, with a wide selection of fragrances.

Wee meet and greet vendors at the event, inspecting the products they offer while Shalane (in the black shirt) looks on.

Charity bodies, such as the Sarawak Society for the Deaf, are also participating as supporting vendors, showcasing their handmade products.

Cloud99 is adding to the excitement with its delectable selection of liquid nitrogen ice cream flavors like bubble gum, frozen blue lagoon, creme brulee, and more.

Organised by Woo Woo Whimsy, the event is happening from Oct 25 to 27, from 9 am to 9 pm.

Its managing director, Shalane Matthew said that the market offers a wide variety of products, including handmade crafts, spooky-themed snacks, Halloween costumes, home decor, and more.

“For families and kids, we have Halloween-themed games, bouncy castles, and photo opportunities,” she said.

“It’s a lively and interactive experience perfect for all ages. We want to immerse visitors in a fun and festive environment that celebrates the spooky season!”

There will also be tarot card readings, and children can enjoy riding electric cars provided by Toys Mart.
On Oct 27 at 2 pm, Dreamscape will be hosting a workshop where attendees can learn to create their own paludarium or terrarium.
